Change Your Life and the World

Twenty-eight days to change your life and the world
That’s exactly what my friend and leadership expert Kathleen Schafer‘s book, Living the Leadership Choice: A Guide to Changing Your Life and the World (Bloomington, IN: iUniverse, 2011) is about. I met Kathleen last year around the time I was launching Girl, Reworked. What intrigued me most about her work and vision was how similar our messages were. We share the idea that the power to change and rework our lives lies within us, not with outside forces.
Kathleen has spent the past two decades coaching politicians on their campaigns, hosting a radio show, teaching at university, speaking publicly, raising two boys, and privately coaching clients.
Living the Leadership Choice is a twenty-eight day guide for making small but effective changes in your daily life. What I love about this book is that all of Kathleen’s daily thoughts and exercises are relevant to our individual life paths in our relationships with family and friends, self, colleagues, and the world.
The manner in which this book was written makes it easy to digest and take on the twenty-eight day challenge with ease. Every day has a guiding thought, a journal exercise, some ideas on how to take action, and personal insight from Kathleen’s own transformational journey.
Time to rework it, again
I first read Living the Leadership Choice last spring. I’ve recently noticed it laying on my table as I walk by, its words staring back at me and I thought it’s time to read it again, to remind myself of my intentions professionally, personally, and creatively.
So, I’m back on Kathleen’s twenty-eight day plan to change my life and the world once again. And I couldn’t think of doing it alone without sharing it with all of you. Because it’s always a good time to rework your life!
If you’d like to join me, you can check out Kathleen’s book here.
